  1. Mix dish soap with seltzer water instead of regular water.
  2. Soak gemstones like diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and sapphires set in gold.
  3. Use a soft toothbrush to clean the stones and settings.
  4. Rinse in clear water or under running water using a strainer.
  5. Buff dry to restore sparkle.
